Michelle Palatnik is a New York-based painter working from observation. Her paintings move between figuration and space, often allowing forms to remain partially unresolved.
Palatnik received her MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2026 and her BFA in Studio Art from New York University, where she received the Elizabeth Murray Scholarship, a full four-year tuition scholarship.
In 2026, she participated in the Leipzig International Art Programme at the Spinnerei in Leipzig, Germany, where she developed Conditions of Seeing, a series of eight mixed-media paintings presented at Archiv Massiv as part of the Spinnerei Summer Show.
She was previously selected as a copyist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she studied Rembrandt’s self-portraiture.
